ENISA celebrates Europe Day 2014

Happy Europe Day from ENISA!

Europe’s cyber security agency, ENISA, is issuing an invitation to all, to join the festivities for Europe Day celebrations that will take place today in Heraklion and Athens!

Heraklion

ENISA is co-organising an event with the School of European Education in Heraklion that will take place today between 1.15pm and 3.00pm at the Georgiadis park. The Agency is also joining the City of Heraklion celebrations that will take place at the Venetian lodgia during the morning

Athens

ENISA is joining the Permanent Representation of the EU in Greece in an all day event that will take place in Keramikos Square in Athens.

Background

Europe Day (9 May) is an annual celebration of peace and unity in Europe.  The day is also known as Schuman Day, commemorating the historical 'Schuman declaration'. At a speech in Paris in 1950, the French foreign minister, Robert Schuman, set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe’s nations unthinkable.
