Information sharing is very important to prevent future incidents that can impact network and information security.

For example, Internet outages due to disruption of underground assets such as cables, fibre optics, ducts can be prevented by declaring these assets and future civil works in special tools. ENISA has analysed the solutions deployed in several Member States across the EU in its report “Protection of Underground Electronic Communications Infrastructure”. Moreover, specific tools such as DIO allow operators to inform about disruptions among themselves and share information in a standardised manner

During this workshop, developers and managers of such tools will make interesting presentations. In addition, two parallel panels will allow the audience to ask questions and exchange ideas about these initiatives.

This workshop targets stakeholders from various areas:

  • Electronic communication providers, which use the tools presented in this workshop to declare their assets and exchange information. They will be able to understand the requirements, explain their usage of such tools and express their needs for future developments.
  • Civil work companies, which aim at limiting the risks of disruptions when digging.
  • Member States and policy makers that aim at securing network infrastructure against various incidents.
  • Users and developers of such tools will be able to exchange on good practices across Europe and prioritize their developments.

The participation of electronic communications National Regulatory Agencies and representative of Member States is expected.
