ENISA PQC Webinars - How is Estonia approaching the Post-Quantum Cryptography transition?

Back to Events

Get an overview of Estonia’s approach to post-quantum cryptography migration and the next steps to prepare digital systems for the quantum era.

Background

The European Commission has called for a coordinated post quantum cryptography transition as many widely used cryptographic primitives and algorithms, that protect confidentiality, integrity, authentication and digital trust, seem to be at risk. The NIS Cooperation group published in June 2025 a Roadmap for the Transition to the PQC.

EU Member States are already working on putting forward their national PQC Roadmap and identify actions to support its implementation. Estonia has already made available their National PQC Roadmap which includes consists of three phases: conducting a cryptographic inventory of existing systems, creating detailed transition plans with clear timelines and priorities, and implementing these plans across Estonia's digital infrastructure.

In support of these national efforts, ENISA is organising a series of webinars, aiming to promote national advancements at EU level, engage stakeholders into discussions on how to exchange good practices and how to support technical elements of the transition.
