Emerging and Future Risks

Published under Risk Management

ENISA, among its other duties, is tasked with collecting information in order to analyse current and emerging risks which could impact on the availability of electronic systems and networks; or on the confidentiality and integrity of the information which they transmit, store and process.

ENISA has therefore undertaken the development of a framework for the analysis and reporting of emerging and future risks in the area of network information security. ENISA defines emerging risks as those that may have an impact between one and five years in the future; and future risks as those that may have an impact more than five years in the future. By using the Emerging and Future Risk (EFR) framework, ENISA has performed a number of assessments in emerging technology and application areas. In this section, interested individuals may find achieved results.
