Law Enforcement

Cooperation between CSIRTs and law enforcement

In 2010 ENISA started supporting the cooperation between CSIRTs in the Member States on the one hand and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) on the other hand. The activities launched by the Agency include:

  • Workshops bringing together members of both communities to discuss topics such as NIS aspects of cybercrime, mitigation of massive cyberattacks joining forces to fight botnets, etc.
  • Collection of good practices from mature CSIRTs in Europe cooperating with law enforcement agencies in the fight against cybercrime.
  • Studies on information sharing and common taxonomies between CSIRTs and law enforcement.
  • Identification of possible legal and operational challenges that hinder cooperation, and resulting advice.
