ENISA accepts only electronic application forms submitted via e-mail. This is in order to make processing of applications more efficient, which benefits both ENISA and applicants.
There are two steps in the application procedure:
Online application (for all applicants)
- Submission of a full application (only for candidates invited to interview)
Step 1: Online Application
At the first stage, candidates must submit their application electronically using the application form which is available only in English on the ENISA website. Translations of the application form are available for reference purposes in the other EU official languages. All parts of the form must be completed in full. Candidates should assess and check before submitting their application form whether they fulfil all the conditions for admission laid down in the publication notice, particularly in terms of Formal requirements and Selection criteria.

To use the application form it will be necessary to use Adobe Acrobat Reader version 10 or newer. We recommend that you download it for free from the following web address as per your computer operating system: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html
- The application form must be completed. The application can be saved on your computer at any stage. Please note that ALL the boxes with a red border are mandatory and must be completed before submission of the final application.
- Once the form is completed, click the “Check and Save” button to save your final application as a PDF file on your computer.
- Following this, a web page will automatically open in your browser to allow you to submit your application file. Fill in the form in this page and select your PDF file under “PDF Application form” from your computer.
- Once you click the Send button, you will receive an immediate message indicating that your application has been sent. Following this, you will receive an email acknowledging the receipt of your application.
If you don’t receive the acknowledgment by email within 12 hours please contact email@example.com.
Before completing the application form it is important to read the instructions given above. Please note that due to the large number of applications we might receive, when reaching the submission deadline, the system may encounter problems processing large amounts of data. Applicants are therefore advised to send in their application form well ahead of the deadline. Please note that you will need a valid e-mail address.
The electronic application form to be used is available in an English format only. This application form should be filled preferably in English which is the working language of the Agency. Translations of the application form in the other official languages are provided for reference purposes.

When submitting your application at ENISA an automatic confirmation will be sent to you acknowledging the receipt of your application. In case you have not received such receipt the latest one (1) working day before the closing day please contact the HR team.
Step 2: Submission of a full application
(only for candidates invited to interview)
At the second stage, should the candidate be invited for interview, in order for the application to be considered complete candidates must, at least three (3) days prior to the interview, send originals or certified copies of all relevant documents (diplomas, certificates, professional references etc) needed to prove that they satisfy all conditions for admission. Further information will be provided in the invitation letter. No documents will be sent back to candidates.
All documentary evidence of professional experience must indicate start and end dates for previous positions and the start date and continuity for the current position held. On the day of the interview the candidate must sign his/her application form and by signing the form the candidate certifies on his/her honour that the information provided is complete and accurate.
The address indicated on the form will be used as the location for travel for candidates invited to interview. Your application will not be accepted unless all the documentary evidence is provided and the application form has been signed on the day of the interview, if so invited. Candidates who have not submitted all the documents specified the latest on the day of the interview will be disqualified.
Recruitment will always be based on published vacancy notices to which applications should be explicitly linked.
Candidates who wish to apply for different vacancies are asked to send applications separately.
The European Union Agency for Network and Information Security offers traineeships for periods of six months with a possibility of extension for a further 6 months maximum. The traineeship program aims to provide trainees with work experience in the field of Network and Information Security, General Administration, Financial Administration, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Legal and IT. Candidates can only apply for a traineeship in one of these profiles. Applications must be sent by email with the profile chosen in subject.
