Report/Study National Cyber Security Strategies
The paper includes a short analysis of the current status of cyber security strategies within the European Union and elsewhere. It also identifies common themes and differences, and concludes with a series of observations and recommendations. The paper is based on the preliminary findings and analysis from an ENISA project that is working to develop a Good Practice Guide on how to develop, implement and maintain a national cyber security strategy. The Good Practice Guide is intended to be a useful tool and practical advice for those responsible and involved in cyber security strategies.

Under its Work Program 2012, ENISA has launched a project on cyber security strategies. The objective is to collect information on good practices and to present practical guidelines for the Member States to develop, implement and maintain a national cyber security strategy.

The first Annual Privacy Forum1 (APF’12) was held in Limassol, Cyprus from 10–11 October 2012. The Forum was co-organised by the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA)2 and the European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT),3 with the support of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus. APF’12 was endorsed as an official event of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

File Meldungen von Verletzungen der Datensicherheit in Europa – Neuer Bericht der EU-Agentur
Die Agentur ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency), die Agentur für „IT-sicherheit“ in der EU, hat heute einen Bericht über Meldungen von Verletzungen der Datensicherheit veröffentlicht. Die Forderung der EU nach der Meldung von Verletzungen der Datensicherheit (Data Breach Notification, DBN) im Bereich der elektronischen Kommunikation nach der EG-Richtlinie zur e-Privacy (2002/58/EG) trägt entscheidend zur langfristigen Verbesserung der Datensicherheit in Europa bei. Die Agentur hat die aktuelle Situation unter die Lupe genommen und hat in ihrem neuen Bericht die wichtigsten Problempunkte sowohl der Betreiber von Telekommunikationseinrichtungen als auch der Behörden, die sich mit Datenschutz befassen (Data Protection Authorities, DPA), identifiziert.
